About the role
School Governor
Woodlands Primary School is looking for a Co-opted Governor to join our Governing Body.
Our governing body work closely with the senior leadership team to support and challenge, aiming to maximise the educational opportunities and outcomes for our pupils. Using their skills, governors are vital in the strategic and financial development of the school.
Woodlands is a wonderful primary school in Borehamwood. Following a successful Ofsted in July 2022, we are excited to continue to develop the school. Our values and ethos are all based around the needs of the children. We want to make their primary journey as positive as possible and are always striving to be the best that we can be.
Our governing board meet once per half term with the option of meeting face to face or via Teams.
We are looking for someone who has:
· a passion to support every child / young person to achieve in education- committed to ensuring pupils have access to a positive and safe school environment;
· good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team;
· an open and honest outlook, with the ability to remain objective in order to come to balanced decisions.
· Specialist skills would be beneficial to the role but not essential.

Full training and support will be provided therefore no previous knowledge of how an educational setting is organised is required.
