About the role
We are looking for a friendly, approachable and dedicated individual to join our staff team as SENDCo.
This is a part time position for 2 days a week. The SENDCo responsibilities include:
- Senior Leadership
- Ensure the school fulfils its statutory requirements according to the Code of Practice
- Self-evaluate the school’s SEND provision and make effective use of the SEND benchmarking toolkit in order to audit and identify areas for development to feed into the SDP
- Build effective partnerships with stakeholders, including children, parents/careers, governors, as well as external SEND professionals
- Lead on MHWB
- Coordinate resources for teaching and learning
- Monitor and evolve the curriculum offer for children with SEND
- Track attainment and progress of children with SEND looking at the impact of interventions and reasonable adjustments
- Provide support and guidance for staff
- Attend meetings and lead staff CPD as appropriate
We would like to hear from you if you are:
- An excellent teacher with strong knowledge of high quality Teaching and Learning (QTS)
- Experienced working with children with SEND
- Strong at communication and collaboration
- Committed to inclusion and high expectations for all
- Able to inspire and motivate
- Qualified with the relevant SEND leadership qualification or have a willingness to complete the SENCo NPQ
