About the role

At St Paul's, our vision is to inspire a community which values everyone and their God given potential, encouraging all to flourish, achieve and believe in future possibilities.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic SENCo to join our team from September 2025 who will become a valued part of our St Paul's family.  We are flexible on the number of days between 0.4 and 0.6 a week.

So step this way and visit St Paul's. We could be the school for you!

Ofsted July 2023:

''Leaders identify pupils’ special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) accurately and provide staff with guidance on how to support pupils with SEND. Staff follow this guidance and skilfully enable pupils with SEND to access the same curriculum as their peers and achieve their best. Staff work closely with external specialists to support pupils with more complex needs. Leaders and staff monitor the effectiveness of provision. They make changes when necessary. Pupils learn well and have work that is effectively adapted to their needs.''

The school is in a great location and with Langleybury Children's Farm on our doorstep (which we visit fortnightly) and vast wooded outside areas there surely cannot be a better location in which to work?

10% of our current intake have additional needs and we are looking for someone with experience to ensure that their needs are met in order to enable them to flourish. The role would be to work closely with colleagues to provide support and best practice advice, liaise with parents and other agencies and to champion the children with SEN in our school. A strong background as a classroom practioner is essential although this is a non-teaching role. Small group teaching and pastoral sessions would be part of the timetable.

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • A creative and inspiring teacher with a natural love of learning
  • A reliable, well-organised team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic and positive
  • Committed to inclusive practice which will nurture all children

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • The opportunity to join a well-respected school with established links in the local community and external agencies
  • Opportunities for further CPD to enable you to flourish
  • A supportive leadership team
  • A team of friendly and hard-working staff
  • Friendly, well-motivated children who enjoy learning
  • A culture of continual professional development.
  • An SEN allowance for the role
  • Opportunities for further CPD to enable you to flourish
  • Most of all  - well behaved children who are keen to learn

Visits to the school are strongly recommended.

Our school is committed to safeguarding, equality of opportunity and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All postholders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS Check.

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
