About the role

Are you skilled in sound, lighting, and staging, and interested in supporting Production and Performing Arts? We are looking for a dedicated Technician to join our School Staff, playing a vital role in the execution of events and productions.

Key Purpose of Role

As our school Technician, you will manage all aspects of sound, lighting, and staging, ensuring smooth operations and support for staff and events.

Main Responsibilities

Technical and Event Support

  • Collaborate with Production Arts and Performing Arts staff for all areas linked to sound, lighting, and staging needs.
  • Ensure seamless lighting and sound during assemblies.
  • Assist external speakers with microphone setup and staging.

Event Coordination

  • Provide performing arts support for school events such as Masses, Presentation Evenings, concerts, and performances.
  • Lead the setup and construction of staging for productions.

Student Engagement

  • Encourage and guide students in using sound and lighting systems.
  • Maintain the Main School Hall’s order and safety.

Support and Safety

  • Assist Music & Drama Departments with equipment setup for all events.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and COSHH standards.
  • Provide First Aid cover for the Medical Room and afterschool events.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in sound, lighting, and staging equipment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
