About the role
SEN Support Role - One to One Learning Support Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our dedicated team of staff; to work one to one with a pupil who has Special Educational Needs, who needs supporting academically whilst following the rules and routines of daily school life.
The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate and support the child under the direction of the class teacher and the SENCO.
Although working as directed, the candidate will be confident about using their own initiative and adapting learning activities to suit the individual needs of the child.
The position would suit a patient, supportive person who can establish clear verbal and non-verbal expectations and positive relationships with children and adults.
It would be preferable, but not essential, if applicants have previous experience of working with children who have additional needs.
This is a temporary post working 5 hours a day from 8:45am to 3:15pm, 15 hours per week, term time only (breaks are unpaid). This post is paid on the Hay Scale H1.2 (£23,656 per annum, pro rata).
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and expect all members of staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
Please apply online via the teachinherts website.
