About the role

The Governors of Belswains Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Learning Support Assistant to join our excellent staff team. We are passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of all our pupils and staff.

The position is term time only plus INSET days, Monday to Friday 08.30– 15:20. (31 hours 40 mins a week),and will be primarily to support an individual pupil 1:1. The role will however also include time supervising children during their lunch break. The post is initially fixed term for the 25-26 academic year with a start date of September 2025.

Belswains Primary School is a Steps trained school, using a therapeutic approach to behaviour management and was re-confirmed as a 'Good' school by Ofsted in March 2023.

Candidates must be:
• prepared to play a full part in the life of the school
• committed to supporting the progress of our children
• able to demonstrate good levels of literacy and numeracy
• passionate about developing children's love of learning
• able to develop positive working relationships with children and adults
• flexible and able to use initiative to create and adapt ideas
• able to use positive and effective behaviour management.

Awareness and experience of SEND needs would be welcomed.
