We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work with two children (separately) in Key Stage 2 to help them to regulate their emotions, make the right behavioural choices, access learning within the classroom and achieve their potential. The ability to be flexible and tailor learning opportunities to their interests and be active and have an interest in sports would also be an advantage! The role will be from 8.45-3.15 daily with an hour for lunch, totalling 27.5 hours per week. The ideal candidate would have experience of supporting or working with children with a range of needs.
The role would initially be for a fixed term until December 2025 but we are hoping this will be extended subject to funding.
St Catherine’s is a popular, two-form entry, Church of England Primary School. It’s conveniently located in the heart of the developing market town of Hoddesdon, within easy reach of the A10, M25 and M11.
We serve the local community in being the first and only Church of England Primary School in Hoddesdon and are proud to be rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2023. We work closely with our parents, carers and families and have a strong bond with St Catherine’s and St Paul’s Parish Church.

The role will involve;
- supporting pupil in class,
- following programmes of support provided by external agencies such as the behaviour base, Speech and Language or advisory teachers,
- liaising with the Inclusion Team, teacher, parents and other agencies
- keeping records and tracking progress
