Deputy Preschool Leader

About the role

Are you an enthusiastic, self-motivated, passionate individual with experience of working with preschool age children (2-3 year olds), who strives to make the difference in children’s lives?

We are currently looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and well-organised Deputy Preschool Leader from September 2025 (or earlier if mutually agreeable) to work under the direction of our current Preschool Leader. The hours are Monday, 8.30am – 5.00pm and Tuesday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.15pm, term-time plus 1 week (39 weeks/year).

The successful candidate will be an experienced Early Years Practitioner with a minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification, knowledge of how to assess and plan for children's learning and development, and previous experience of deputising for a preschool lead in a similar setting. They will possess strong communication, organisational and leadership skills, and be a good team player.

You will be working within a creative and supportive environment that seeks to bring out curiosity in all children and we value new ideas and fresh thinking.  We can offer a well-resourced environment both within the classroom and outdoor garden area and a team of highly qualified, supportive and experienced Early Years Practitioners and Learning Support Assistants. We have motivated and enthusiastic children and a supportive Governing Body.  

Staff all have an annual wellbeing day in addition to school holidays and are able to access wellbeing support through a third party.
