About the role
Are you ready to take the next step out of the classroom and into a non-teaching leadership role? Or are you an existing Deputy wanting to get some more experience in another school before making a move into Headship? In either scenario this could be your perfect role.
We are a Nursery and Infant school in the heart of the Bernards Heath community, we enjoy open honest relationships with our families and these partnerships mean that all children get off to the best start in their learning journey; developing a positive sense of self and the skills for lifelong learning.
While our existing Deputy head is on maternity leave we are looking for someone to support the wider team, liaise with parents, carers and professionals and fulfil the statutory and strategic priorities for the school in partnership with the head teacher. The role will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday out of class and will involve the day to day running of the school in the head teacher's absence on a Wednesday.
The attached person specification and job description gives specific information about the role and the person we are looking for. To give your application the best chance of progressing past shortlisting on the 31st March ensure you make reference to the job description and person specification attached giving clear examples where possible.
If you are a successful candidate at Bernards Heath we can offer:
- Children who are keen to learn and grow their brains in a wide range of ways like our Learning Hero Giraffe
- Professional development opportunities including mentoring members of the staff team to impact positively on teaching and learning, monitoring budgets and working with Governors
