Description
St Albans Girls' School is a highly regarded, oversubscribed and friendly all-ability secondary school with 1,400 students and high standards of behaviour. GCSE results place us in the top 100 secondary schools in the country and the top 3% nationally for student progress.
Our school is a very special place and our students, staff and governors are exceptional people. We celebrate and build on our distinguished history combining innovation within a caring, vibrant and dynamic community. Our students thrive on expert teaching, high quality facilities and a vast range of extracurricular activities.
St Albans Girls' School is proud to be part of The Ambition Education Trust (AET) which consists of ten schools in Hertfordshire; three primary, one nursery and infants’, one juniors and five secondary. Our Trust launched in September 2024 following the amalgamation of two established Multi Academy Trusts (MATs), Alban Academies Trust and Atlas Multi Academy Trust. Our aim is to build on our proven track records of maintaining exceptional standards and driving continuous school improvement.
Providing ‘educational excellence for all’ and making superb learning opportunities available to all the children and young people in our schools, requires exceptional teachers and support staff. As a trust we strive to offer rewarding careers and opportunities for personal and professional development throughout our organisation and we are always eager to hear from talented individuals who want to make a difference.
Within our schools and trust central team, we have a wide range of fantastic roles both within teaching, including newly qualified and unqualified teaching positions, and school support roles, such as classroom and learning support, administrative support and roles within our business functions. We are also proud to provide a great range of flexible opportunities including term time and part time working.
Ambition Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to a post at AET is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, as well as other pre-appointment checks including an online check, as outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
We are committed to the aim of ensuring that everyone who applies to work for us receives fair treatment and we positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of age, disability, race, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership and caring status. We expect all our staff to demonstrate a commitment to advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations.
