Please can you describe your journey into working in education?
I finished school back in 2018 and started working at my local college working in exams. Then when I finished college in 2022, I used Teach in Herts to find my next job. Since that point, I have worked in two great schools in Hertfordshire and have worked my way up from a receptionist to an Office Manager.
What are the key things you love most about your job?
I love working in education and making a difference to the lives of young people. I can’t imagine working in any other sector!
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to work in a similar role?
You can always work your way up in schools, they see your potential and work with you to help fulfil career aspirations.
Do you have any suggestions on how Herts Schools can make their vacancies more attractive to candidates?
Using the online application form that syncs all the candidate’s information across multiple roles, instead of typing out a word application form each time, is very helpful for candidates.
