Please can you describe your journey into working in education?
My career is in workforce planning and human resources. I wanted the opportunity to give something back locally, and started as a parent governor at my children's primary school. This was over 13 years ago and I am now the Chair of governors.
What are the key things you love most about your job?
Whilst it is voluntary, the role is very rewarding. I feel that I am giving something back to the community and helping a school to provide the best education for our children. It has really helped me understand the nuances of the education system. In particular how the curriculum works, and supports learning. I have developed strong relationships with staff at the school and with the community.
