Can you describe your journey into working in Early Years (how did you qualify, what have been the key steps along the way)?
I was sponsored to do an early years training in the eighties by a school for children needing emotional support. I then went on to be a volunteer in early years when my children were very young, did further training, worked with a variety of ages, Child protection, Specialist family support, did an MA in Early Years, now teaching and managing a kindergarten.
What are the key things that you love about your job?
never boring, many laughs, good colleagues.
What advice would you give to someone who is looking to work in Early Years?
Gain a broad experience, enjoy the work. Have a good team and support system,'safe space', to vent frustrations. Humour, good team spirit
