H2- H4 (depending on skills and experience)

Salary:   £7,707 - £8,515 (£22,737 - £25,110 FTE)

Monday - Friday 10:30am- 1:30pm, 15 hours a week; term time only

We're seeking a Welfare Assistant to join our dedicated team, playing a vital role in the health and safety of our pupils and staff.

About the Role:

As our Welfare Assistant, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing prompt and effective first aid care for pupils and staff in line with current first aid regulations.
  • Managing minor injuries and illnesses, maintaining basic medical records, and administering medication.
  • Liaising with parents and guardians in case of medical emergencies.
  • Ensuring record keeping (Medical Tracker) is of a high standard and up-to-date.
  • Maintaining and replenishing first aid supplies and equipment.
  • Upholding a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the designated welfare area.
  • Working as part of a team, collaborating with other staff to ensure the well-being of all students.
  • Promoting health awareness and good hygiene practices within the school community.

What You Bring:

  • A healthcare or first aid qualification (e.g., Paediatric First Aid or equivalent). Training can be provided.
  • Proven experience providing first aid care in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building rapport with pupils and staff of all ages.
  • A calm and reassuring demeanour, able to handle emergencies with composure.
  • A methodical approach to paperwork and record-keeping.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative, while also being a team player.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
