About the role
We are looking to appoint a friendly, motivated, enthusiastic and patient person who is passionate about supporting children to be the very best they can be. The position is full/part time from 8.45-3.20pm, with lunch being taken at 1.05-1.35pm.
The Teaching Assistant hours could be supporting any class in the school or working with children on a 1 to 1 basis. The role includes helping teachers with the pupil’s learning. This might be through supporting learning during lessons or delivering interventions to individuals or groups of children.
Applicants would ideally have previous experience of working with children. A Level 2 NVQ qualification in Children’s Care or Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Candidates must also be confident in English and Mathematics abilities; and hold at least a Grade C in GCSE English and Mathematics.
Willingness to learn is important along with being able to apply clear boundaries and work as part of a team. Liaison with Teachers, Teaching Assistants and the SENCO is essential. Appropriate training will be provided.
