About the role

We are looking to appoint a part-time energetic and inspiring Teacher of Art & Photography

Presdales School is a single sex comprehensive school in Ware for girls aged 11-18, with boys welcomed into the Sixth Form. We are a school which values all students, irrespective of their age and ability and helps them to exceed expectations through high quality teaching and learning and the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities which will enrich their educational and personal development beyond the classroom.

We are seeking a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of Art & Photography who shares our Art education philosophy and is able to motivate and inspire our pupils to thrive and excel in their own personal artistic pursuits.  Presdales Art and Photography department is a vibrant and successful team of specialist teachers and practitioners. Our philosophy to develop students’ visual and communicative skills, nurturing students to become well rounded, independent and imaginative individuals permeates all that we do, and this is reflected in our outstanding GCSE and A Level results.  The department offers GCSE Fine Art, A level Fine Art and A level Photography; which have proven to be to be very popular choices within the school options process among students in both KS4 and KS5.  The Fine Art curriculum focuses on painting, drawing, printmaking, installation, mixed media and textile based work whereas the Photography curriculum predominantly focuses on digital work and physical manipulation. The department boasts three specialist Art rooms and our senior A Level artists and photographers benefit from a private Art/Photography study area which is well equipped with a fully kitted out photography studio and Mac computers. We pride ourselves in the rich extracurricular opportunities our students have on offer, such as; clubs, trips and gallery visits for KS4 and KS5 students.  The successful candidate will have a strong academic foundation and have the ability and experience to teach to GCSE and A Level, contributing significantly to our collaborative and successful team.
