About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable teacher to join our Education Support Centre team, working with young people in our Key Stage 3 Centre in Hertford, and our Key Stage 4 Centre in Hoddesdon. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who has a passion for supporting young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education.
Although supporting these young people can be challenging, the rewards are immense as we see them develop and succeed in reaching their full potential, gaining educational outcomes, and returning to mainstream wherever possible. It can be demanding at times but with small class sizes, a high staff to pupil ratio and a supportive management team the opportunity to effect real change and witness rapid progress is significant.
Rivers ESC work with a varied cohort of pupils including children classed as missing education, permanently excluded from mainstream schools, and many of the pupils have social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).
The successful candidate will have a practical approach to teaching and a strong background in PE, fitness, and outdoor activities. Additionally, experience in delivering Personal Development and other practical / vocational subjects is desirable. As a teacher in our ESC, flexibility and the ability to adapt to varying needs and situations are critical to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment.
