About the role
Redbourn Park is is growing quickly and requires experienced teachers as it continues its incredble journey. Teaching is primary style across age groups and typically in groups of 4-6 with the support of 1/2 TA's plus input from specialist therapuetic staff. We teach a full national curriculum and whilst we focus primarily on meeting needs, we are ambitious with our education offer and want every child to reach their potenital, which is generally very able. On site, you will typically have 12 students with 8-10 staff.
Children at Redbourn Park have a primary need of autism, but also have other complex needs. Children are able but have often had difficult experiences in school which has led to significant time out of education. Most notable needs include anxiety, and demand avoidance but every child is very different and has had a complex and challenge school experience, requiring a huge amount of support, care and when ready, expert teaching.
We opened in 2021 and opened our second site this year. We have a third site planned which will take our age range from 7-14 to 7-16, bringing in exams and qualifications. Our capacity is currently 24 and a third site will take this to around 40. This creates opportunities for experienced staff to join our expanding team.
We have an excellent team, with a widely varied amount fo experience. What really stands out and makes a role at redbourn park work is being a really good person and having a huge amount of empathy and care for those you work with.
This role is ideally for an experience teacher look to take a step up in their career. It is for our KS2 or KS3 site, who are behind age expected progress and taught in a primary, nuture group style. We will also be growing to a third site, so there is lots of opportunity for professional growth adn development.
