About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our school! Woolgrove School, Special Needs Academy, is looking for two pastoral support workers, with either mainstream or special primary school experience, to join our team in September. The positions are full time, 32 hours a week (8.45am to 4pm Tuesday and Thursday and 8.45am to 3.30pm Wednesday to Friday) plus 5 inset days. On occasion you will also be required to attend after school team meetings.
You will be working in partnership with each other to provide high class nurture support and pastoral interventions for our most vulnerable pupils. You will be non-class-based working across the school supporting a number of our pupils with behaviour and pastoral needs. You will join our behaviour team and work with our Behaviour Lead, Family Support Worker and Senior Leadership Team. These are vital roles within our school, so we are looking for people who have strong interpersonal skills, are creative, adaptable and care passionately about forging positive relationships with both children and adults.
We are a happy, forward thinking special school for 125 primary aged children with learning difficulties, autism and a range of needs, situated in Letchworth, North Hertfordshire. We are looking for resilient, proactive, caring people with excellent interpersonal skills. - Amazing children and a collaborative happy environment aiming to achieve the best outcomes for all our pupils
- A caring, hard-working and supportive staff team
- A comprehensive new starter induction and training programme and employee assistance programme
- An ongoing commitment to professional development. As part of our commitment to staff training and wellbeing, pupils leave school at 2pm on Fridays to enable high quality whole school staff training for one hour every week
