About the role
At Rhodes Wood Hospital School, we are dedicated to fostering a love of music in our students. We are a dedicated CAHMS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) school of 38 students focused on providing a supportive environment for young people facing eating disorders. Our aim is to foster emotional well-being and encourage personal growth through various therapeutic and creative activities, including music. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to explore their musical potential in a supportive and inspiring environment.
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Peripatetic Music Teacher to join our team 2 days a week. The successful candidate will provide individual lessons across a variety of instruments and vocal training, inspiring students to develop their musical abilities and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Organise and participate in small musical events.
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for musical exploration.
Qualifications:
- Relevant music degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in one or more musical instruments or vocal techniques.
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in a school setting, is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for inspiring students and nurturing their musical talents.
