MATHEMATICS TEACHER

The Hemel Hempstead School

All Bands + FRINGE – ECTs welcome to apply

Required for September 2025

Full time/part time

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of Mathematics for September 2025 to join this flourishing and highly successful Faculty. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach across the 11-16 age range, with the ability to teach at A Level being advantageous. This post would be particularly suitable for ECT’s.

The Hemel Hempstead School is a popular and oversubscribed school on a beautiful site in the Boxmoor area. The school is close to local and national rail, bus and road links to London. Our GOOD Ofsted inspection in 2022 praised the school, saying, “Pupils at The Hemel Hempstead School get a high-quality education. They develop the knowledge they need to achieve well in all subjects. This is the same for all pupils. Pupils are keen to learn. As a result, they concentrate in lessons. Pupils say that they behave well because they understand what they are learning.’ We have expanded our school, with 217 students in each year group and over 250 students in the Sixth Form. Our facilities are excellent with world-class sporting facilities, a brand-new music, languages and science centre and plans for further improvements across the site. In September 2025 we will have a brand-new school building.

The Hemel Hempstead School is proud to work within Scholars’ Education Trust.

Diversity: Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Declaration of criminal offences

The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. The existence of a criminal background does not automatically mean that you cannot be appointed but it may do so.
