About the role
Would you like to work at Templewood? Would you like to make a difference, work with an incredible team and our wonderful children?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about relationships, enjoys working with children, and wants to provide a positive learning experience for our children at Templewood. This is a flexible role that can involve one-to-one support, group work, or whole-class support, enabling us to respond to the children's needs and provide timely, appropriate assistance.
The successful candidate will need to be able to develop positive relationships with the children and understand that all behaviour is a form of communication. Taking a non-judgmental, curious, and empathetic approach to behaviour is vital. We encourage all adults in the school to respond in a way that focuses on the feelings and emotions that might drive certain behaviours, rather than just addressing the behaviours themselves. Our therapeutic approach to behaviour support is outlined in the policy available on our school website. Our ideal candidate will be nurturing, ambitious and passionate about inspiring and supporting children to develop and learn in an inclusive environment. They must be able to use their own initiative and demonstrate a calm, patient and kind approach.
You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team with a range of training available. We are all learners and are constantly looking at ways to improve, develop and refine our practice. Templewood was judged to be requires improvement in October 2021 and our school has rapidly improved over the last 2 years. Ofsted were back in December 2023 and we received an overall judgement of Good with Outstanding for personal development. Our Ofsted report can be viewed on our school website.
The hours are 8.40am - 3.15pm (term-time only.)
