About the role

The Governors of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint dynamic and innovative teachers to complement our team, from January 2025.

This post is suitable for an established teacher, refining their good practice, or an experienced teacher who wishes to remain as an excellent and innovative practitioner in the classroom and an effective subject leader.

Confirmed as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in November 2023 and underpinned by a strong Catholic ethos, we are ambitious and are ready to join with you on a journey that will take both you and our children to ‘the best that we can be.’  Could you join us on our journey and help our children to achieve their ambitions?

Set in a diverse community, we aim for everyone to feel a sense of true belonging.  Our environment, ethos and curriculum aim to support this key priority so that everyone feels well represented and welcome.

Working in a two-form entry school, overlooking Fairlands Valley Lakes, you would be just thirty minutes away from central London by train and situated just minutes from Junction 7 of the A1(M), making the school journey manageable.

We can offer you:

  • A forward thinking, prayerful community, rooted in the traditions of the Catholic church with strong links to the parish and the wider community;
  • A strong sense of community and a commitment to local, national and international neighbours;
  • A diverse and supportive group of families, appreciative of teachers and committed to learning;
  • An inclusive ethos, valuing the unique individual and a diverse heritage;
  • The support of a parallel teacher to plan with;
  • The support of a strong Key Stage team
  • The chance to share your good practice
  • The opportunity to develop and lead a subject area
  • A framework and climate in which you can innovate and test new approaches
  • Coaching from experienced staff
  • A long-term commitment to your professional development;
  • A supportive community where individuals are encouraged to lead, inspire and innovate;
  • Excellent local training through Herts for Learning and the Diocese of Westminster;
  • A welcoming school with children who have positive attitudes to their learning and care for each other;
  • Pupils who are recognised for their outstanding behaviour and personal development;
  • A friendly, caring and dedicated staff, committed to school improvement;
  • A financially secure, well maintained and adequately resourced school;
  • The chance to shine!

Visitors to our school always comment on the purposeful atmosphere, the sense of family and the engagement of our children.  You can get a good sense of the school by visiting our website (www.stvincent.herts.sch.uk), by looking at our X feed (@svdp_school)
