About the role

Job Details: Full time role (37 hours a week, term time only) - Fixed Term Contract to start in January 2025 until July 2025 (However, this will be reviewed with a view to being extended into 2025/26 academic year)

Salary Scale:  H5-H6 (depending on experience)

We are a forward-thinking school who are looking to recruit a new member for our highly-valued teaching and support team. The vacancy is for an HLTA/Unqualified Teacher looking to gain experience of teaching small group and whole class in Upper Key Stage 2. The role would require you to work alongside the teaching team to support with planning, delivering and providing effective feedback of lessons across the curriculum. You would be working with children of all abilities including children with a range of social, emotional and communication difficulties and/or special needs within the classroom and on the playground.

The position is full time school hours (37 hours) this includes attending staff meetings after school once a week. 

The contract is for the remainder of this academic year initially, with a view to potentially extending further into the 2025-26 academic year. This role would suit someone who is looking to gain experience in schools before a career in teaching or for someone looking for their next step in their career progression.

The right candidate will need to work in line with the school’s policies and plans for specific children within a year group, alongside teaching and support staff.  We follow Herts Therapeutic Thinking approach and base our policies and ethos around this. We would expect the candidate to follow this ethos within their daily practice. Therefore, knowledge of and up-to-date training in Therapeutic Thinking would be highly desirable. We aim to support new staff with an induction package and training, some of which will be in-house.
