Deputy SEND assistant

Deputy SENCo

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Deputy SENCo. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our pupils and their families, while being part of a dedicated and collaborative community.

Working Monday to Friday 08:45 until 14:30 some flexibility may be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee medical paperwork, equipment, and organisation of medical training for staff
• Run lunchtime interventions to support pupil learning and well-being
• Complete Risk Assessments to ensure a safe and inclusive environment
• Support families with access to food banks and signpost them to relevant support agencies
• Conduct Family First Assessments
• Provide administrative support for SEND-related matters
• Work in liaison with the SEND Team
• Teach classes or groups as needed 

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified teacher status
• Experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to promoting inclusive practises and supporting the well-being of all pupils

• Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by families
