About the role

Are you ready to make a real impact in a thriving school community? Imagine leading a team where collaboration is key, work-life balance is valued, and every child’s potential is nurtured. At Cowley Hill Primary School, “Learning for tomorrow every day” isn’t just our ethos—it’s our commitment to ensuring that every pupil is heard, valued, and inspired.

As our Deputy Headteacher, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our vision for the future. This is a non-classroom-based role, giving you the capacity to focus fully on strategic leadership and school improvement. You’ll benefit from a well-resourced environment and the support of a strong, forward-thinking team that shares the workload and embraces new challenges with a ‘can-do’ attitude. With excellent behaviour throughout the school, you’ll have the space to focus on what matters most—creating outstanding learning opportunities for our pupils.

Situated in the heart of Borehamwood, Cowley Hill is a popular, two-form entry primary with a nursery, set on a spacious and appealing site with a brand-new building. You will lead on curriculum enhancement, mentor and develop staff, and work closely with the Headteacher to drive continuous improvement. Whether inspiring our Pupil Parliament, building links with our local partners, or supporting well-being initiatives, your leadership will shape a school where children and staff truly flourish.

If you’re passionate about inclusive, dynamic leadership and ready for your next challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
