We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in Key Stage 1. The role will be daily from 9.30am until 3.15pm and includes working as an MSA over lunchtime (with an unpaid break of 30 minutes) totalling 26.25 hours per week. There may be some flexbility with hours for the right candidate.  The ideal candidate would have experience of working in a primary school.

St Catherine’s is a popular, two-form entry, Church of England Primary School. We are conveniently located in the heart of the developing market town of Hoddesdon, within easy reach of the A10, M25 and M11.

We serve the local community in being the first and only Church of England Primary School in Hoddesdon and are proud to be rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2023. We work closely with our parents, carers and families and have a strong bond with St Catherine’s and St Paul’s Parish Church.

We have a diverse school population, with children from a broad catchment area. In line with our values, we strive to provide a truly inclusive environment for all, and this is embodied within our newly adopted school motto ‘Let your light shine’.

Pupils’ personal development plays an important part of our school life. We have strong links with the community and our pupil’s take part in a range of local events and school trips that connect to their learning.

The role will involve;

  • supporting children in class,
  • working with small groups
  • liaising with the Inclusion Team, teacher, parents and other agencies
  • supporting whole class learning
  • supporting the children to develop independence
