About the role
We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our strong, friendly team. The role may be anywhere between EYFS and Year 6, depending on the experience and expertise of the candidate. We welcome applications from existing TAs, HLTAs, 1:1 as well as those looking to secure their first role in a school. The successful candidate will receive an extensive induction on all school interventions, in addition to ongoing CPD.
The role is a varied one, combining supporting pupils 1:1 at times, along with working within a class, supporting the learning of small groups. We would also consider a candidate who was looking to move into a HLTA role (or an existing HLTA), who would be willing to cover classes for short periods. Previous experience is desirable, though not necessary, as training will be provided in school. The key attributes necessary are patience, organisation, a calm nature and sense of humour!
We would ideally like someone to start ASAP. However, we may consider applications for a later start. Applications for full or part time will also be considered.
At St Catherine of Siena, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of who we are. We strive to be a place where all stakeholders (pupils, parents/guardians and staff) can be themselves.
We commit to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent and to respect and value differences arising from age, creed, culture, disability, educational background, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, nationality, race, religion and beliefs, sexual orientation, and other dimensions.
We particularly encourage applications from people who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, as a group who are underrepresented within teaching in Hertfordshire .
Please contact Mrs Geri Phipps by emailing g.phipps@st-catherine.herts.sch.uk for more information and to arrange to visit the school. Applications should also be sent to this email address. We reserve the right to interview and appoint early if the right candidate is found.
