About the role
Run, don’t walk: Seize the opportunity to join the Two Waters’ team as our Year 1 teacher!
We are looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher to join our friendly, collaborative and supportive team at Two Waters. With a sound knowledge of how children learn (we embrace Rosenshine’s Principles as our underpinning pedagogy), the successful candidate will be able to show how they ensure every child reaches his / her potential, instilling a lifelong love of learning, the confidence to take risks and the resilience to tackle challenges, in preparation for the rapidly changing world ahead.
Year 1 is one of the most rewarding years to teach, affording the opportunity to build on the fantastic foundations that our EYFS team create, whilst teaching the full breadth of the national curriculum. Having completed an autumn ‘transition term’, our Year 1 cohort is now ready for whole class teaching, based on the premise of creating ‘memorable learning experiences’. The successful candidate will therefore be a capable curriculum planner who can take existing plans and adapt them appropriately to meet the needs of the current cohort, weaving in practical activities to build long-term memories built on robust schema. As we are a single form entry school, you will benefit from autonomy within your own classroom, with support from our highly skilled KS1 Lead and the wider teaching team.
Professional development is a priority at Two Waters. With nearly 50% of staff involved in professional qualifications over the past year (from SENCo awards to NPQs), candidates can rest assured that they will be fully supported to continue their own professional journey at Two Waters.
Two Waters School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Safeguarding checks will be undertaken in line with KCSIE and may include a social media check. References will be sought for all applicants invited to interview. This post is subject to Health and enhanced DBS checks.
Please come and visit us. Take the opportunity to speak to our KS1 Lead, Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher. If you are available during the working day, you’ll have the opportunity to meet our fantastic children too.
Please contact the school office on 01442 217893 to arrange a convenient time.
We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
