About the role
Are you trustworthy, friendly, hardworking and have high standards? Do you want to feel that you are making a real difference to the lives of children, education staff and the community? If you don’t mind early mornings, have at least basic DIY skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of humour then this could be the part time role for you. This role is integral to the smooth running of the school and has a huge impact on the children and staff of our lovely school.
Our site manager is retiring, and we are looking for someone to pick up where he left off, ensuring that the school is safe and looks its best for our children and our staff team.
The role is Monday – Friday 7-8.30am and 5-6pm 52 weeks per year. 4 weeks holiday would need to be taken during school holidays.
During school holidays, depending on contractor visits and the needs of the school, you may be able to ‘block’ your hours.
Most importantly you will need to carry out safety checks, often weekly and complete documentation as evidence. (Training can be provided and therefore basic literacy, numeracy and computing skills are necessary).
You will need to be physically fit as the role will include some heavy lifting. You should be able to carry out basic DIY skills such as assembling furniture, installing notice boards and freshening up a classroom wall with a lick of paint.
We are a friendly two form entry Infant and Nursery School on the Woodhall Farm Estate in Hemel Hempstead. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, well organised, bright, cared for and clean environment for our children and staff.
If you think that this is the role for you, please come and visit our school before applying for the role, our Headteacher, Nicola O’Connell, would love to show you around and answer any questions that you may have.
An enhanced disclosure will be sought through the DBS as part of Hertfordshire County Council’s pre-employment checks.
