About the role
As part of an exciting expansion of the Senior Leadership Team, St George's School is seeking to appoint an additional Assistant Head to increase leadership capacity and enhance the school's ability to support pupils' academic progress and development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and values-driven leader to shape the role and contribute to the strategic direction of the school.
First and foremost, we are looking for a candidate with the right values, attitude, and leadership approach. As a result, the specific responsibilities of the role are flexible and will be refined based on the strengths and interests of the successful candidate. The role will encompass key operational aspects such as staff deployment, cover management, duty rotas, and overseeing the development of the timetable. Additionally, the Assistant Head will play a pivotal role in monitoring pupil progress, managing assessment data, overseeing census information, and leading on key transition and options processes.
Parental engagement will also be a significant focus, including responsibility for parents' evenings and fostering strong relationships between school and home. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to support curriculum development, working closely with The Deputy Head Academic and departmental leads to enhance teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes.

The Assistant Head – Academic will be required to lead on a variety of areas with examples of possible key responsibilities including:

Curriculum, and Teaching and Learning Development
This role reports to the Deputy Head - Academic and have direct line management responsibility for the Cover manager, Data Manager, and various Directors of Learning and Heads of Department.
