Apprentice Tutor to deliver PE and Classroom Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

An exciting opportunity has arisen to offer the right individual an opportunity to join the Apprenticeship Training Team of Educational and Sporting Futures, based in our Stevenage office.

We are an Outstanding Ofsted provider (Sept 2021), National Award-winning school-based Training Provider for Education and Childcare Apprenticeships 2022. (Feweek/AELP)

We work with schools to deliver the Level 3 Teaching Assistant and this role will involve a focus on both PE and Classroom TA delivery.  An opportunity has arisen to expand our team in the Teaching Assistant area.

This position would involve predominantly PE and Classroom focus and would require commitment, enthusiasm, high end organisational and communication skills and an ability to co-ordinate a virtual and face to face program across our organisation, working as a valued member of our team.

It is a position that could be ideal for a teacher with experience in school or college setting who is considering a fresh, exciting new challenge, stepping into and developing their skills within the Apprenticeship world.

 It would be working with a new cohort of apprentices working alongside our experienced Team of tutors.

The role will involve visiting learners and observing within school settings, and it is a great opportunity to step into the Training provider world, or bring with you experience from an educational setting.

PE and Classroom Apprenticeship Tutor (Full-Time) 

Typical case load: 30 learners (split across 3 groups)

Manage apprenticeship delivery based upon the following model:

  • Deliver remote half day training workshops on a fortnightly basis.
  • Observe learners within their workplace three times throughout their programme.
  • Engage with employers to support learners and lead Progress Reviews
  • Lead the Gateway meeting and support the learner’s preparation for End Point Assessment
  • Support the Recruitment lead with placement of Learners and where necessary be involved with Employer Engagement
  • To support with the Digital delivery of the programme and continue to develop remote delivery opportunities.
  • Use the BUD system to support learner progress and achievement – training will be given.
  • Work alongside the curriculum lead team to deliver 3 live practical core training events. 

Person Specification: qualifications, experience and skill levels.

  • This post holder is expected to work proactively with the core team and alongside senior team members, ensuring program management is delivered effectively at all levels.
  • Teaching experience in a School, College setting.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining information systems to support effective working using a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets and databases.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Effective time and workload management
  • Experience within the Education Sector
  • Pro-active, problem-solving approach
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy with the aims and objectives of Educational and Sporting Futures

•     Ability to form good working relationships with a wide range of groups and individuals

  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and on own
  • A calm, organised approach is a key quality.
