About the role
Swallow Dell is in Welwyn Garden City, close to the town centre and is well served with transport links. The school is a two-form entry with a Nursery provision, housed in two separate buildings. The school is fortunate to have some of the largest and most impressive school grounds of any primary school and there is a wealth of space and resources on site that children regularly access.
We have a friendly, dedicated team of staff who support each other to make it not only a great school for the children but also a great place to work. Our office is the heart of the school ensuring its smooth running and efficient organisation of operations, as well as being the forefront of the school when meeting families and visitors.
We are seeking a part-time enthusiastic, confident school administrator to work in our busy but fun school office and be the front face of our school. The main part of the role will be managing pupils’ attendance and admissions. The successful candidate must have experience of working in administration and although school experience is ideal, it is not essential as full training and support will be provided.
You will need to be organised to provide excellent administrative support for the whole school, whilst always promoting a friendly and professional office environment. It is important that you have the ability to build and maintain good relationships with all the staff and the local school community and communicate in a confident, friendly and professional manner.
You will need to be able to work well within a team, work well under pressure and be able to maintain attention to detail with frequent interruptions as well as managing various tasks simultaneously in a positive manner and confidentiality is key.
