1:1 Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a very special person to work on a 1:1 basis with a Key Stage 2 child to support their learning and development.  This position will be for 25 hours per week (term-time only) and would suit an individual who has an extensive understanding of how to support the learning, behavioural and social needs of children who require additional educational support.

The successful candidate will:

  • be a warm and caring individual who truly puts the needs of the child first
  • be flexible and creative in their approach, with an ability to adapt and change tasks and activities to suit the learning needs and interests of the child
  • have experience of supporting children in KS2
  • work hard to ensure that their named child is fully included in all aspects of school life, using a range of supportive strategies and resources, under the advice of the class teacher and SENCo
  • have good organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with colleagues
  • have experience of working with autistic children in an educational setting
  • be patient and kind

An understanding of the Hertfordshire STEPS approach to behaviour would be an advantage.
