Description

Welcome to our vibrant, caring and ambitious learning community at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

Our core moral purpose is to ensure that the children placed in our care learn in a warm and nurturing environment that enables them to achieve high standards academically, and to develop and mature into young people who are ready to take their place in the world and achieve to their full potential.

We strive to ensure that children are at the heart of our school, celebrating the fact that we aim to create a happy, purposeful and stimulating environment within which each child is valued as a unique individual made in God’s image who will be supported to achieve the highest possible standards of educational, personal and spiritual development.

We are very proud of the happy and caring atmosphere that permeates through our school, and believe that the key to our success is the quality of relationships and the high levels of care that exist between all members of the school community, which is rooted in the values of living life through Christ.

Not only do we strive for the highest possible standards of education for our children, we also teach them about the teachings of Jesus and how our faith is built upon the Gospel values. We teach our children about God, life, friendships, how to treat others with respect, other faiths and how to conduct themselves as kind and thoughtful people in an increasingly rich and diverse 'global family'.

We are fully committed to ensuring that our curriculum is broad, relevant, creative and stimulating and engages all of our children, enabling them to make outstanding progress.

Every member of our dedicated teaching team work incredibly hard to establish and maintain an effective partnership with parents to ensure that we continually provide the best possible educational experiences for our boys and girls on a daily basis as we actively ‘live, love and learn by the example of Jesus.’

As well as excellent academic achievement, we also prioritise sport, music and the arts at St. Joseph’s and provide our children with many opportunities to flourish in these areas, both within and beyond the school day.

At St. Joseph’s, we believe if each child is to achieve their true potential, there must be close collaboration between home and school. We are fortunate to have very supportive parents, governors and strong links with the parish. We strive to work together as a faith community to give every child a happy and rewarding primary school experience which provides them with the best possible foundation for the next stage of their journey as a life-long learner.

Primarily, we aim to prepare children to be successful learners who enjoy learning. We also help children to gain the essential skills that will enable them to be happy, healthy and confident individuals who will be responsible citizens of the future.

I would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school and look forward to you becoming part of our happy, hard-working family.
