About the role
Redbourn Park is a school for children with a primary need of autism, but also have other complex needs. Most notable, this includes anxiety, and demand avoidance but every child is very different and has had a complex and challenge school experience, requiring a huge amount of support, care and when ready, expert teaching.
We opened in 2021 and opened our second site this year. We have a third site planned which will take our age range from 7-14 to 7-16/18, bringing in exams and qualifications. Our capacity is currently 24 and a third site will take this to around 40. We have an excellent team, with a widely varied amount fo experience. What really stands out and makes a role at redbourn park work is being a really good person and having a huge amount of empathy and care for those you work with.
This role is great for someone who has some experience of SEN and wants to make a difference. Often we take on those with little experience who are excellent in empathising with the children they work with and the challenges they face. We provide a lot of training and support and take great pride in the team we have built who work with some of the most complex children, and make a huge difference by being as great as they are.
As we continue to grow, most staff have moved up and taken on more opportunitiees and as we look for another site, we expect there to be a continued opportunities to progress. We will also be looking to take on a teacher apprentice in the coming year.
