About the role

The headteacher and governors are seeking to appoint a Teaching & Learning Assistant.

You will work with a child who may have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) and have specific learning needs (eg. Autism)  The role will be well supported by the school's SENCo and external agencies. As this contract is linked to exceptional needs funding, the post is offered on a fixed-term basis until July 2025.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good communication skils
  • GCSE or equivalent passes in English and Maths
  • Likes children and will help them to grow and learn
  • Is able to supervise and support a child with communication and social difficulties throughout the school day
  • Has patience and empathy
  • Presents clear and consistent boundaries and support
  • Has a positive outlook and is able to face situations calmly
  • Has resilience and flexibility

Although not essential, experience of working with children with special educational needs would be a significant advantage. We will also provide necessary training and you will be closely supported by our team.

The vacancy is for five days per week 8.30 am to 3.30 pm (30 min unpaid lunch break) (Lunch time role will be paid as an MSA)
