About the role

The reason for the post is to deliver high quality assistance in teaching and learning, supporting the pupils to make progress in their academic as well as social/emotional/ behavioural development. Providing specialist assistance to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities, and ensuring safeguarding of pupils.

This is an exciting fixed term until July 2025 part time post (32.5 hours per week, term time  plus 5 INSET days) in which no two days are the same! The hours are 8.30am until 3.30pm.  It is not simply a photocopying and pencil sharpening job, but one where you will be fully engaged in working with vulnerable children and making a difference on a daily basis! Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviours would be welcome but is not essential.

We strongly believe in the importance of welfare and safeguarding our children and therefore all people who work with our children are subject to our rigorous enhanced DBS checks and two references, checked.

We cater for children with complex needs and welcome teaching assistants  of high calibre, who share the responsibility for their continued professional development, reviewing this and the development of expertise.
