About the role

Newberries Primary School is a popular one form entry school in Radlett. Our children are capable and enquiring learners, demonstrating an eagerness to engage in and contribute to lessons. Our children are keen to learn and rewarding to teach.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about nurturing pupils, to join our hardworking, supportive and friendly team.

For this post, the successful candidate(s) will be required to work term time, between 8.30am to 3:30pm -  Monday to Friday. 

This role requires working within mainstream classrooms, as well as with pupils who require 1:1 or small group support. It will involve working with a variety of pupils with a wide range of barriers to learning, across our setting. The ability to adapt to the ever changing needs of the school is essential. A 1 hour daily lunch duty (MSA), which is paid Pro Rata at the HB payscale (£22,366 Full Time Equivalent), is part of this role.

In addition, the availability to support the work of our growing After School Club would be favourable. This runs from Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. We would be happy to discuss this at interview, as we may be able to offer some flexibility with this aspect of the role. This role is paid at £12.18 an hourly.  

Experience of working in mainstream, Primary Classrooms is preferable. The experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs, as well as knowledge of strategies supporting SEMH and behaviour, is desirable. All applicants should have a Maths and English GCSE Grade C (or above) or the equivalent. 

This is a fixed term position until April 2025, however there is a possibility for the contract to be reviewed and renewed.
