We are seeking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to join a team that is committed to providing the best possible outcomes for its children.  We are looking for a friendly, positive and professional practitioner who will put the children and the school at the heart of what they do.

Our teaching assistants support teachers to deliver the curriculum, lead target teaching for small groups of children and where necessary work on a 1-1 basis with pupils.  They also form part of our midday supervisory team.
Teaching assistants employed at H4 scale provide cover for classes to cover teacher absence.

Candidates need to be empathetic and have an understanding of the importance of mental well-being in children and how to support this. Ideally, candidates would have all or any of the following skills:

•    Experience of working with children of varying ages from 4 – 11
•    An affinity with, or previous experience of working with children with additional needs
We can offer you:
•    Very well-behaved children who demonstrate strong engagement in their learning

The Russell School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS check will be requested for the successful candidate in accordance with Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education legislation.

As part of the shortlisting process, the school will carry out an online search on shortlisted candidates as part of its due diligence. This forms part of the school’s wider safeguarding due diligence which aims to prevent and/or deter individuals who may be unsuitable to work with children from working in a school environment.
