About the role
Would you like to work at Oaklands? Would you like to make a difference, work with an incredible team and our very special children?
We are looking to appoint a full-time teaching assistant, who will work across year groups as well as with children with special educational needs.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about relationships, enjoys working with children, and wants to make a difference and provide a positive learning experience for our children.
The successful candidate will need to understand that all behaviour is communication. Taking a non-judgemental, curious and empathic attitude towards behaviour is vital. We encourage all our adults in school to respond in a way that focuses on the feelings and emotions that might drive certain behaviour, rather than the behaviour itself.
Our ideal candidate will be nurturing, ambitious and passionate about inspiring and supporting children to develop and learn in an inclusive environment. They must be able to use their own initiative and demonstrate a calm, patient and kind approach.
You will be joining a supportive and dedicated team with training available. Oaklands was judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted in July 2023.
We ask that all candidates who wish to apply, visit the school to see us in action and find out more about what it is like to be a member of staff and a child at Oaklands. Candidates should contact the school office to arrange a tour of the school.
The post will be be a fixed term contract for 18 months, however there may be potential for the post to become permanent based on performance and/or the needs of the school.
Shortlisting will take place on Monday 24th February, however the school may close the application process early for the right candiate. Start date can be earlier than advertised dependent on notice periods required and satifactory DBS checks.
