About the role
The Sele School is seeking to appoint an outstanding educator of Religious Education and RSE to join a high achieving, successful and forward-looking team of staff. The successful candidate will be keen to work alongside an established team determined to create an excellent learning experience for all of our students.
You will be in a position to inspire and motivate young people to learn about the religious beliefs and practices of World Religions and how these beliefs and practices have shaped the present-day we live in.
You would be responsible for the delivery of the RE curriculum to both KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to develop this at A level in the future. The RSE curriculum is already embedded into the Sele School curriculum and you would be responsible for the delivery of this curriculum to Key Stages 3 and 4.
We are keen that students have an opportunity to extend their interest and enthusiasm for RE by taking part in a range of extracurricular activities such as clubs, visits and competitions. We would welcome any contribution you could make to these activities at The Sele School.
The Teacher of RE and RSE position would suit either an ECT seeking a first appointment within a forward thinking school or a more experienced teacher wishing to develop their experience and curriculum management skills.
The successful candidate will:
- have a track record of high impact teaching
- have excellent subject knowledge
- be inspiring, dynamic and passionate
- promote The Sele School’s ethos and values
What can we offer you?
- The opportunity to work with excellent students whose behaviour is exemplary
- The chance to work in a positive, welcoming and forward-thinking community where evidence-based methods are seamlessly integrated into teaching and learning
- A dedicated staff who are enthusiastic and who want the best for our students
- A CPD package which is tailored to suit your stage of career development
- Cycle to work scheme which is part of the school’s sustainability strategy
Our ethos Non Ducor Duco: I am not led, I lead - is a lived experience in our community. We view education as a transformative process and if you feel you have the discipline and work ethic to teach at the highest level then The Sele School is the place for you.
