About the role
Our Digital Media curriculum aims to empower students with the creative, technical, and analytical skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital and media-driven world. By engaging with a curriculum that combines theoretical understanding and practical application, students will develop a comprehensive knowledge of media production processes, critical media literacy, and the skills required to communicate effectively across digital platforms.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children aged 11-16 years and be able to demonstrate they can implement the academy’s commitment to the safety and welfare of children. This position is suitable for all teachers, including those undertaking an ECT programme.
They will also demonstrate a passion for the subject, have the ability to inspire students, have commitment to raising participation levels in extra-curricular activities, and have an awareness of curriculum developments across key stage three and four.
As a teacher you will:
Promote good progress and outcomes by being aware of students’ capabilities and their prior knowledge, and plan teaching to build on these, along with encouraging students to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.
Plan and teach well-structured lessons, promoting a love of learning and children’s intellectual curiosity, and setting homework and planning other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding students have acquired.
Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students, making accurate and productive use of assessment.
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
Fulfil wider professional responsibilities by making a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the academy, developing effective professional relationships with colleagues, and taking responsibility for improving teaching through appropriate professional development.
