About the role
At Marriotts our vision is for every single student to exceed their potential and to leave us with the qualifications, skills and attitudes that they need to move on to the next stage of their lives.
Judged as a ‘Good’ School by Ofsted in November 2021, Marriotts’ staff body is comprised of inspirational leadership, and excellent teaching and support staff who share our philosophy: Aim high, work hard, be kind.
We are currently looking to appoint a Teacher of Humanities and RE (Geography & RE or History & RE) (Maternity). This is a full-time post from April 2025 to Spring 2026. The successful candidate will be a qualified, enthusiastic and committed practitioner who is able to provide high quality teaching and learning for our students, and who is willing to embrace additional extra-curricular activities. For candidates with the appropriate experience, there may be additional responsibilities attracting a TLR award. Consideration may be given to a subject-relevant graduate, looking for a pathway into teaching. We would also welcome applications from single-subject specialists. This role is integral to the School's aim of ensuring that 'every lesson, every day is good or better'.
Marriotts School is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of all its students and staff. The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to satisfactory recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check, medical check and satisfactory references. Marriotts School operates a strict Equal Opportunities Policy, and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
Please direct any queries, or send a completed Application Form together with a cover letter/personal statement outlining how you meet the Person Specification for this role, to: Mrs J Peary, Resources and Operations: j.peary@marriotts.herts.sch.uk
