We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed teacher in charge of Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) from January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead on a new aspect of the school’s inclusive provision.
Applications are welcomed from teachers who have extensive experience of working with children with SEN, ASD and communication needs in a primary setting (Year 1- Year 6).
The successful candidate would be responsible for working closely with the senior leadership team, the local authority, and the governing body to ensure that the provision is fully inclusive and provides as many access pathways into our mainstream as possible for the students, based on their individual needs. The successful applicant will demonstrate a real understanding of integrating students into mainstream lessons, as well as having a proven track record of positive outcomes for students on the autistic spectrum. They will be able to manage an effective team of dedicated staff and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Our school has a specialist resource provision, where children are nurtured and educated in a way that matches their needs. We are looking for a person who has qualifications, skills, and ambition for the children to enable them to accomplish their learning and personal targets.
Working across the school, with SRP and mainstream staff, the role is suited to someone with a sense of purpose, a positive outlook and attitude, and a passion for helping children be the best that they can be.
The team are highly skilled in adapting learning and delivery to enable all children to succeed, and this career opportunity would enable the right candidate to work alongside the current staff to continue to develop outstanding practice.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Has a proven ability to teach pupils with ASD and communication needs effectively through the use of dynamic, adaptive and engaging techniques.
- Has the ability to work with and manage a team in a responsive and flexible manner.
- Is able to reflect and see solutions in daily teaching, in own practice and that of the team.
- Can use their initiative to solve problems.
- Can work collaboratively within a team.
- Can share ideas for the adjustment of learning to enable pupils to access the learning effectively.
- Is able to play a lead role in planning and preparing lessons and resources as well as supporting TAs to deliver sessions.
- Ability to plan for a range of ages and abilities taking into consideration the pupils’ individual plans whilst referencing the whole school curriculum intent.
- To build effective trusting relationships with staff, pupils, parents and external agencies.
