Job Title: SEND Review Officer
Location: Based at Apsley or Stevenage
Starting Salary: £25,545 with the opportunity to progress to £28,770 pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

What does the role involve?
Our SEND Review Officers work collaboratively with professionals across education, health and care services, to ensure effective case management, integrated working practice and successful outcomes for children. This includes recording annual reviews, deciding the content and amendments where required, and communicating with professionals where required to seek outstanding information indicated. Also, inputting and maintaining accurate and comprehensive database records.

We are looking for you to have:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Experience reflecting knowledge of SEND
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Desirable: Previous experience of working with families or young people

We have over 11,000 children and young people in Hertfordshire with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and are really making SEND everybody’s business. The Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessment and review teams are responsible for delivering high quality casework in line with the statutory requirements in the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and Children and Families Act 2014. Statutory responsibilities include coordinating multi-agency assessments of education, health and care needs and ensuring that Education, Health and Care Plans are up to date and reflect the needs of the child and the provision they require.
