Job Title: SEND EHC Coordinator
Location: Based at either Apsley or Stevenage, with travel across areas within Hertfordshire*
Starting Salary: £32,076 pa with the opportunity to progress to £34,834 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: 1 year fixed term maternity cover

What does the role involve?

We have opportunities for you to specialise in one of the below teams:

  • Full time / 1 year fixed term/secondment maternity cover - Virtual School: responsible for children and young people in care with an EHCP

You'll support families/schools/colleges, to understand the statutory process for SEND and what our local offer of support means for them. This includes attending meetings to discuss needs and provision; writing or amending EHC plans with a focus on ensuring progress and outcomes; and managing placement or provision requests that come in from schools/colleges/parents. A key part of the role is developing relationships with parents, and professionals across education, health and care..

We are looking for you to have:

  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Educated to A level or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of literacy to support good case recording and quality EHC plans.
  • Hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work
  • Desirable: previous experience working in schools to deliver SEND provision or experience with other stakeholders including parents, education, care and health.

* Please note there will be induction training period up to 6 weeks upon starting with us in Stevenage, with a requirement of presence in the office for a significant part of that, although with some flexibility as required and as agreed with your manager and in line with the needs of the service / training delivery.
