We are seeking to appoint a special individual to join our team.

Are you passionate about making a difference? Join us as an SEND Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a child with SEND needs, helping them thrive in their learning journey.

We have a role available to support a child on a 1:1 basis (with social, emotional and mental health difficulties) to succeed in education. You will require patience, flexibility and be committed to helping children develop as independent and confident individuals. It would be desirable, but not essential, that you have experience in this type of role.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work closely with the class teacher, the SENDCo, and external advisors. You should be keen to learn, be able to work on your own initiative and carry out advice consistently.

The successful candidate will have a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (C or above) and a high standard of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities will include:

· Supporting a child on the SEND register

· Working with the SENDCo and class teacher to support and adapt learning for this child

· Delivering interventions and activities to support this child’s learning

In return we offer the successful candidate:

· A positive and caring working environment

· A friendly, dedicated, and supportive staff team

· A well-resourced working environment

· A strong commitment to CPD with quality mentoring and development support

The role is for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.45-3.20pm (which includes a 1 hour unpaid lunch break), term time plus Inset days. This is a fixed term contract until 21st July 2025 or unless the pupil leaves the school, whereby the contract will end.

A visit to the school is encouraged prior to our interview day. Please contact the school office on 01923 225188.

All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Declaration Form prior to interview.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible as the school reserves the right to close the advert early should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
