Are you passionate about driving change with an enthusiastic staff team and brilliant children?

Do you understand the importance of building relationships and of play within a secondary Special School setting?

Since the arrival of the new Head teacher in September 2022, Falconer School has undergone significant change, with a clear pathway to becoming excellent. Although currently an SEMH setting, the school now has more students with learning and social communication difficulties. Many children have attachment and trauma needs alongside neuro-divergent challenges such as Autism and ADHD.

We are looking to recruit a conscientious, enthusiastic and caring Assistant Head teacher of Inclusion/SENCo to join our Senior Leadership Team. The team are committed to supporting the needs of the students whilst meeting the challenges of a School undergoing rapid improvement and a clear, precise plan is in place to support this.

Our vision at Falconer School is to develop and instill a culture in which all involved with the School show kindness and respect, where we are ready to learn and be involved and where everyone is accepted for whoever they are. We call this the Falconer Way and it is embedded in every interaction, no matter your role within the school and it permeates through everything we do.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our Head teacher by leading and defining the strategic direction for Inclusion, working collaboratively with our strong leadership team to help deliver the highest expectations and successful student outcomes. The role will have a specific focus on SEND provision and EHCP outcomes as well as enhancing systems around the Annual Review process and the wider plan/do/review requirements to ensure individual needs are met.

We are looking for an inspirational leader with a proven track record in senior/middle leadership who:

  • will build good relationships with our amazing students,
  • will inspire confidence with our talented staff,
  • can thrive in a challenging but well-supported environment,
  • is determined to ensure the best possible outcomes and future pathways for every student in the school.

To support you in achieving our aims and ambitions for Falconer School you will:

  • have exceptional support from the Senior Team and Head teacher,
