About the role
The Lea Primary School is a good school. Our recent ungraded OFSTED June 2023 stated that there is enough evidence to suggest that it could be an outstanding school.
The SENCO we appoint will be either:
- an experienced SENCO who has completed the National Award for Special Education Needs or
- an experienced and highly effective class teacher who is interested in completing the award
The SENCO post will be three days per week, however, the appointed candidate could also combine this with 2 days in the classroom if they would like to work full time.
The appointed candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about ensuring all children are included and are able to have a full an active role in the school community. They will be nurturing and caring; they will be organised and able to work to deadlines. They will be a team player, work effectively with others and have high expectations of staff and children alike.
Visits to the school are very welcome. Please contact the school office on 01582 767939 to arrange an appointment or to speak to the headteacher.
We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
The Lea Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check as well as other pre-appointment checks, including an online check, as outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2023).
